How iHOOP iNDEED handles personal information, including information about minors.

Who we are

iHOOP iNDEED is a basketball operations platform used by leagues, clubs, tournaments, gyms, coaches, players and their families. This policy describes the information the platform collects and how it is used.

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, password credentials handled by our authentication provider, and the role you hold (player, parent, coach, league staff, gym owner, fan).
  • Profile information: player biography, position, jersey number, photos and highlight video you or your parent choose to add.
  • Participation data: registrations, rosters, schedules, attendance and check-ins, box scores and season statistics recorded by league staff.
  • Payment data: amounts, dates, what was purchased and a payment reference. Card numbers are never stored on our servers — they go directly to Stripe.
  • Communications: messages you send through team chat, support requests and contact-form submissions.
  • Technical data: device and browser information, and page activity used for basic analytics and for anti-abuse limits on features like flame taps.

How we use information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell information about minors.

  • To operate leagues, clubs, teams and gyms: registration, rosters, scheduling, statistics and standings.
  • To take and record payments for registration, store purchases, sponsorships and gym bookings.
  • To send transactional email such as registration confirmations, receipts, invitations and league announcements.
  • To provide optional push notifications where you have opted in on your device.
  • To keep the platform safe: rate limits, abuse prevention and audit trails on administrative changes.

What counts as personal information

Personal information includes name, date of birth, email address, phone number, postal address, photographs and video of an identifiable person, persistent identifiers such as device and push-notification tokens, government-issued identifiers (for example a driver's licence, passport or social security number) and biometric data (for example a fingerprint, voiceprint or face template).

iHOOP iNDEED does not collect or store images of government-issued identity documents, and does not collect or store biometric data. Photographs and highlight video that a parent chooses to add are stored as ordinary media and are never converted into a face template or any other biometric identifier.

Children's data

Youth profiles operate on a parent-owns-child-profile model. A parent or guardian creates and controls the child's profile, and controls what is visible on it.

Player profiles use age-based masking. For players under 16, the public profile shows initials rather than a full name unless the parent chooses otherwise, and sensitive contact details are never public.

Adding a highlight video for a minor requires the parent or guardian's consent before it is published.

League and club staff can see the participation information they need to run the program. Other visitors only see what the profile's visibility settings allow.

A parent or guardian may review, correct or delete their child's information at any time by contacting us or using the controls on the child's profile.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe-hosted fields and are never stored by iHOOP iNDEED. We keep the record of the transaction — amount, date, item and a payment reference — so leagues can reconcile their season.

Where a league, club or gym receives money directly, funds are routed to that organization's own connected Stripe account and Stripe's terms apply to that account.

Consent to collect is separate from consent to share

Agreeing to let us collect a child's information is not agreement to share that information with anyone else. The two are recorded separately, each with its own date, and a parent can grant one without the other or withdraw either at any time.

Service providers acting on our instructions — payment processing, hosting, email delivery, push delivery, merchandise printing — are not a separate sharing decision. They only handle what they need to run the feature a parent asked for, and they may not use it for their own purposes.

Making a child's profile publicly visible, publishing a highlight video, and any future sponsorship or NIL arrangement are sharing decisions. Each needs its own affirmative parental consent and is recorded as its own consent, and none of them happen by default.

Third parties that receive information

Each of these acts as a service provider under our instructions. We also share participation information with the league, club, team or gym a player belongs to, so they can run their program, and we may disclose information where required by law or to protect someone's safety.

  • Stripe — payment processing. Receives the payer's name, email address and payment details, and the amount and description of what was bought. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Supabase (operated through Lovable Cloud) — hosting, database, authentication and file storage. Stores the account, profile, participation, media and message data described above so the platform can function.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery. Receives the recipient's email address and the content of the message (registration confirmations, receipts, invitations, league announcements).
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notification delivery. Receives the device push token and the notification text, only where a device has opted in.
  • Printful — merchandise fulfilment for store orders. Receives the order details and the shipping name and address of the buyer. It receives nothing about a child unless a child's name is part of a customised item that was ordered.

How long we keep information

We keep each kind of information only as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, and then we delete it. A nightly check finds records past their keep period and sends them to a removal review with an audit trail.

Account and profile information (name, date of birth, contact details). Needed to run the account. Kept while the account is active, and for 12 months after it becomes inactive. Deleted sooner on request.

Game statistics and season history (box scores, standings, awards, season records). Needed to run the season and to give players a record of what they did. Kept for 5 years after the player's last activity, then deleted. "Last activity" means the most recent of: a game played, a season registered or rostered, or a sign-in by the player or their parent.

Long-term tracking (optional). A parent can choose to keep a child's statistics and season history for longer than 5 years, so the record follows the child as they grow. This is a choice, never the default. It stays on while the account is active and the parent re-confirms it once a year. A parent can turn it off at any time in the Children settings, and the record then goes back to the 5-year rule. Turning it off does not delete anything right away. When a player turns 18 the record is theirs, and they can keep long-term tracking on for themselves.

Payment records. Kept as long as tax and payment rules require, then deleted. We never store card numbers.

Messages and notifications. Kept while the account is active, and for 12 months after.

Adult league records. Season results for adult leagues are league records and are kept by the league.

Your choices. A parent can see, correct, or ask us to delete their child's information at any time from the Children settings or by emailing support@ihoopindeed.com. We confirm the request with the parent before deleting. Deleting a child's record removes the child's name and personal details; team scores and standings stay, without the child's name.

Your rights

You may request a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated personal information. Parents may make these requests on behalf of their children.
